So my French friend challenged me with a life question this past weekend that made me reflect about what I am poring myself into. I originally started this blog to create a space where I can delve into a world that I am particularly interested in: skincare, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn’t want to focus my limited time and energy in outside beauty. As much as outside beauty has value, it doesn’t hold a candle to inside-out beauty which consists of our diet, exercise and also our soul. So much of our western culture concentrates on our physical appearance and diet, but very little thought is given to our soul.. which to me is the most important part of who we are. The soul lives on after the physical world. We think of beauty and fashion to be exclusive from inside beauty; that is, the intangibles which truly is the crux of beauty. I apologize for sounding so cliché here, but outer beauty is only skin deep..where inside beauty goes much deeper than your skin. So I decided to add another component to this blog which I will continue to develop by incorporating our overall body and soul. I challenge you to think beyond your skin when we think about beauty. I don’t mean to get so philosophical, but true beauty lies in the essence of who we are which is deeper than your skin. Don’t worry, I’ll still be posting on skincare and I’m excited for the journey ahead of me! I hope you had your first 8 ounces of water this morning.
